i-Cafe Express
About This Spot
Stepping into i-Cafe Express is like finding a little corner of Hong Kong tucked away in Vancouver’s vibrant City Center. The pace here has a gentle rhythm—unhurried yet efficient—mirroring the steady hum of a beloved local spot where familiar faces and aromas mingle. It’s a place where the clinking of utensils, the hiss of the kitchen, and soft chatter create an everyday soundtrack, inviting both quick takeout runs and relaxed moments over a comforting meal.
The atmosphere carries an understated warmth, grounded in simplicity rather than flash. The interior, modest and welcoming, feels like a bridge connecting generations—inviting anyone craving authentic Hong Kong café flavors to pull up a seat, even if just for a brief escape from the bustle outside. This is fast food with heart, where effort and tradition surface in every dish without fuss.
At i-Cafe Express, the menu reflects a thoughtfully curated glimpse of Hong Kong’s café culture—dishes that boast both nostalgia and satisfaction. Whether you arrive for a piping hot baked pork chop rice, lovingly layered with tomato sauce and creamy spaghetti, or linger over a rich black pepper steak rice that promises ample, tender chunks of beef, each bite speaks of home-style cooking made to order. Even the simplest cup of HK milk tea or a pineapple bun, freshly baked and warmly buttery, evokes a comforting routine that locals treasure.
The charm here lies in the honest balance between tradition and convenience. While the restaurant thrives on quick, efficient service perfect for grab-and-go, there’s genuine care in how food is prepared and served—fresh, generous portions that remind you this isn’t just about filling up but truly savoring a moment of familiar flavors. It’s a cafe where people come not only for the staples of Hong Kong fast food but also for those quietly perfect textures and tastes that linger long after you leave.
For those who find themselves wandering through City Center hungry for something reliable and genuine, i-Cafe Express stands as a dependable companion. It’s a spot that isn’t concerned with grandeur but with creating small human moments—sharing a laugh over a breakfast set, quietly enjoying a rice omelet, or picking up a comforting bowl of laksa to warm the day. This is Vancouver’s earnest homage to Hong Kong’s fast food heritage, served with approachable ease and heartfelt familiarity.

After closing their Broadway location and reopen in City Center food court. The food still in quality and authentic in HK style. Their black pepper sauce steak rice and satay pineapple bun are high recommend. I can’t find any other HK cafe a better black pepper sauce than here. Their price is very decent and gave two big pieces of steak on rice. The pineapple bun is huge and baked before serving. I had a mouth full satay beef which is delicious. Highly recommend and their food will not disappoint you.

This is a new location after their original West Broadway location was closed. Although I missed the days watching sports at their original location, this new one is highly efficient. We have been here a few times and their service is always quick. Food is quite decent and price is fair. For example, French toast is just like what it should be, crispy but not dry. For sandwiches, they can toast it for you. We had the pork chop one. Drinks are consistently good quality. We will come back for their new items. Having them in the food court makes me like City Square Mall more.

I visited the place, and in this opportunity I can say that the atmosphere of the place was really nice, I went with a friend, around 8 p.m. and they were still open which is good. The server was nice with us, but At the moment we ask for the bill she was not looking at that side of the restaurant, it took a while. Also, I ask for beef and fish combo, for me was excellent, good combination. For my friend, the Spanish paella the rice was without taste, it felt a bit old, and not too many seafood, she told me. The seafood was fresh which is good! They have excellent washrooms and personally I didn’t see a parking, but close to the place there are some, but you need to walk a bit. The price for us was around $70 with taxes. And they are trying to do it better each time! Points for that!! Overall, just improve the taste of some dishes and you will be fine!! Thanks

I love their #2 Big Breakfast set with chicken steak and add-on for $2.50 extra of shredded pork pickled veg on vermicelli rice noodles (total $15.75). I always have with HK milk tea (comes with the set). Breakfast hours are only 10 am - 11 am however… pretty short. If they are not busy, you might be able to get breakfast still if you arrive a little after 11 am. I highly recommend breakfast. I still need to try their other stuff!

Wow!!! Hidden Gem ! This place is like Cafe de Coral but in Vancouver. The food was made fresh to order and piping hot despite it being a takeout order. Everything tasted fantastic. The baked pork chop with tomato sauce over spaghetti was spot on and the portion was large and generous. Great value. You can add a homemade borscht soup and a sweet dinner roll bun to your combo for $2.50. Highly recommend this add on option. The curry beef Omurice had great flavour too only the egg was on the overcooked side for Omurice as it is usually runny. Nonetheless the food was excellent and made with love. You can order online off their website and pick up the food to go. They package the food meticulously and immaculately. Will be back!

Used to visit the restaurant at Broadway and Heather and now they have this "express" at the City Square mall. Had the curry beef brisket with a cold milk tea fit just under $20. Value is great as the portion was enough to fill me and my wife with lots of beef.
